Vertical Chimney Care is a Chimney Cleaning and Repair Company that has been servicing the Chicagoland area for over 35 years. We are located in Elmhurst, IL and are currently seeking a full-time Chimney Apprentice.

Salary: $17.00 per hour
Job Description:
This individual will ride along with Certificated Chimney Sweeps and assist them on their daily routes. Daily job responsibilities will vary and be directed by the Chimney Sweep.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clean and load trucks with equipment and parts
- Assist in preparing materials for daily routes
- Prepare for work that will be done at customers’ homes: setting up tarps, organizing tools, setting up ladders, setting up safety equipment such as harnesses, and cleaning out vacuums
- Assist with cleaning fireplaces and learning the inspection process
- Assist with running gas lines when directed
- Assist with chimney liner installations
- Assist with furnace liner installations and the removing of existing liners
- Assist with dryer vent cleanings
- This inpidual will need to be comfortable with being on ladders and roofs
- Study to eventual become a Certified Chimney Sweep
- Must have a valid Driver’s License
- This is a great opportunity for someone to learn about our business and pass the exam to be a certified Chimney Sweep within 1 to 2 years!
Schedule:
- Hours: 7:30am to 4:30pm
- Position averages roughly 5 hours of OT per week
- OT paid at 1.5x hourly rate
- Work days: Monday Thru Thursday; Saturdays
- Off Days: Friday & Sunday
